Recognizing our position as a community leader and role model, the Detroit Red Wings are active in the Metro Detroit community through the Detroit Red Wings Foundation.  

Created in 2005, this pro-active outreach program aims to assist and satisfy the unique needs of our community through the sport of hockey. Through player appearances, team-sponsored events and other fundraising activities, the Red Wings help raise over one million dollars annually for various organizations in our community.
